Appalachian State Women’s Tennis Finishes Fall at ITA Regionals

The App State tennis team finished play at the ITA Regional Tournament in Chapel Hill, N.C.

App State junior Savannah Dada-Mascoll won two singles matches in the main draw of the tournament, defeating players from both Clemson and Wake Forest before falling to the former No.1 nationally ranked recruit Eleana Yu from Duke.

Taya Powell, Isabela Romanichen and Olwyn Ryan-Bovey all competed in the qualifying draw of the tournament, falling to players from Gardner-Webb and Furman.

Powell and Ryan-Bovey were paired up for the doubles portion of the tournament, eventually falling to opponents from Presbyterian College.

Romanichen and Dada-Mascoll won their first two doubles games against South Carolina State and Coastal Carolina before the juniors eventually fell to the players of NC State.

This is the last tournament of the fall for App State, with regular season play beginning for the Mountaineers on Jan.17 against VCU.
