His foray into the world of radio broadcasting sees him embodying his father, an acclaimed BBC star.

Mark will be joining the network as a host on its Virgin Radio Chilled channel with the presenter filling in on the station’s breakfast show across this weekend.

He will be heard on the airwaves between 6 and 10am on Saturday 26 October and Sunday 27 October.

Speaking about joining the station, Mark said: “I’m excited to once again embrace my status as the world’s oldest nepo baby.

“It’s great to have the Wogan name back on the radio and I’m delighted to be on the air with Virgin Radio UK.”

Stuart Davies, the content manager at Virgin Radio UK added: “Mark has many stories to tell and I’m sure our listeners will enjoy his wit, style and that suave voice inherited from his dad.”

Mark is the owner and operator of popular pizzeria Homeslice Pizza and has begun hosting his own podcast series in recent years building off the back of his father’s fame and success.

He launched Spooning with Mark Wogan, a popular podcast in which he heads for a meal with a celebrity guest at two of London’s swankiest locations – The Groucho Club in Soho and The Mount Street Restaurant in Mayfair.

Each of his guests receive a custom-made menu to try from but also challenges them as they are also presented with a dish they think they will hate.

In a twist, they will be blindfolded and not know which meal is which.

As well as this, Mark dives into their lives with recent guests including former BBC Breakfast star Louise Minchin, popstar Pixie Lott, former EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks and Great British Menu scene Andi Oliver.

Wogan rose to fame for being the host of BBC Radio 2 weekday breakfast programme Wake Up to Wogan with the star believed to be the most listened-to radio broadcaster in Europe.

He also became regularly known for hosting on Children In Need as well as the Eurovision Song Contest.

Listen to Mark on Virgin Radio Chilled, this Saturday and Sunday on DAB, smart speaker or the Virgin Radio app.
