New Polling Shows Kamala Harris Leads Donald Trump With Women Over 50 By More Than Any Presidential Candidate Since 2016

New polling shows Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump with women over 50 by more than any presidential candidate since 2016.

The survey shows that 54% of women in that demographic plan to vote for the vice president, more than 42% for Trump.

It’s a huge improvement from Joe Biden, who led Trump by just three points with women over 50 in January.

The numbers are also better than Hillary Clinton’s 2016 numbers, who polled 48%-40% about Trump.

AARP, which conducted the survey, believes women over 50 have the potential to influence the election.

“Our polling over the years has shown that they are an important swing voting bloc,” said AARP Executive Vice President Nancy Leamond.

In the same survey, Democrats led Republicans 51%-42% on votes for who should control Congress.

Overwhelmingly, women over 50 say the economy and affordability are their biggest concerns.

Only a third of respondents say the economy is working well for them on a personal level, with 62% saying it is not.

A further 41% of older women are confident they will be better off financially in a year’s time, compared to 49% who are unsure.

Cost of living is the most important issue for 46% of respondents, with immigration in second place at 30%, followed by threats to democracy at 20%.

“Older women are … a large group that is highly motivated to vote,” Leamond added.

“Our polling over the years has shown that they are an important voting bloc.”

Trump on Friday dismissed polls showing him doing poorly with female voters, calling them “nonsense” and declaring that “women love me” — except, he said, for example.

During a live appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Trump was asked about polls showing him losing by double digits among female voters to Kamala Harris.

‘I think I do very well with women, and I think it’s all nonsense. I see the polls, and we are doing well,” the former president said. “You have one problem, you have the issue of abortion.

“Without abortion, the women love me,” Trump insisted.

The Democrat Harris has made the issue of abortion a central plank of her campaign.

Abortion has been a leading issue with female voters since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. Trump appointed three of the justices who made the landmark reversal decision.
