Writing on Instagram at the time, he said treatment was “thankfully going really well – I’m optimistic, positive”.

But a second scan found the cancer has metastasised to his bones, he told the Sunday Times.

The scan found tumours in his shoulder, pelvis, hip, spine and ribs.

Sir Chris has two children, aged seven and 10.
