DOLLAR General has announced the exact date shoppers can score a “buy 2 get 1 free” on a Thanksgiving “bundle”.

Thanksgiving is a time for reunions, gratitude, and of course, food – but it’s perfectly reasonable not to want to break the bank.

Retailers such as Dollar General have announced some savvy saving deals.

As stated in DG’s press release, it is “to help our shoppers by building meaningful recipe/meal solutions”.

The bundle is essentially a buy two, get one free deal, so shoppers can nab a free item.

The deal will run from October 20 to November 28.

What’s the deal?

  • Pumpkin Pie Bundle: Buy a Keebler Mini Pie Crust (6-count) and Eagle Brand Evaporated Milk (12-ounce) and get a free Clover Valley Canned Pumpkin (15-ounce).
  • Green Bean Casserole Bundle: Buy Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup (10 ½-ounce) and French’s Fried Onions (2.8-ounce) and get free Clover Valley Green Beans (14 1⁄2-ounce).
  • Sweet Potato Casserole Bundle: Buy Bruce’s Yams (29-ounce) and Clover Valley Brown Sugar (2-pound) and get free Kraft Mini Marshmallows (10-ounce).

This isn’t all DG has up its sleeve.

The discount store has also broadened its “seasonal assortment of holiday pantry staples”.

Plus customers can enjoy “weekly deals including cash back offers and digital coupons, such as the weekly $5 off $25 coupon”.

DG has also developed numerous “Better for You” recipes which use ingredients primarily sourced from Dollar General stores.

Many of these recipes require fresh fruit and vegetables since the store recently distributed fresh produce over 5,400 of its stores.

Some of these tasty ingredients include twice baked sweet potatoes, baked apple pecan chicken, candied nuts and green beans.

DG’s announcement comes after major retailer Aldi revealed its commitment to Thanksgiving.

It is doing so by offering its lowest priced bundle in five years.

Inside Aldi’s thanksgiving basket is a Butterball turkey with spices, gravy, rolls, mac & cheese, and stuffing.

Plus, the ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.

Aldi says it’ll serve 10 people for less than $47.
