I’ve been back at work for 4 weeks & I’m pregnant again – trolls say I’m playing the system but I’ve got no shame

A MUM has come under fire after announcing to her employer she’s pregnant just four weeks after returning from maternity leave.

Dana Megan, from Sydney, Australia, caused fury and was accused of ”playing the system” after sharing the news on TikTok.

Dana was accused of ‘playing the system’ – however, her employer was supportive[/caption]

According to the blonde beauty, she’d been back from maternity leave for a month before informing the boss she was expecting another baby to join the brood.

In the video, the young mum who’d had 14 months off from work complained about feeling ”sick” being 11 weeks pregnant.

”I have to break the news to her and I am so scared.

”She’s literally the most amazing boss and I don’t know why I am so worried because she’s probably gonna be fine – but it’s more of a me thing,” she told the followers on her page.

”I just don’t like letting people down or disappointing them.”

Luckily for Dana, who got pregnant via IVF, the shock announcement ”went so well” and her employer ”was so, so supportive”.

”[I] couldn’t ask for a better leadership team at work […] and everyone’s so happy and excited for me, and it’s such a relief.”

The mother went on in the comments to praise her work once again, writing: ”I was nervous because I love and respect them all.

”I didn’t want to put them in a tough spot but I was quickly told by my managers that there was no issues at all.”

However, whilst the employer may have not said anything negative, the response on TikTok was slightly different, as dozens of people flocked to slam Dana.

One social media user insisted that her team did probably have an issue with her going on another maternity leave.

”Playing the system. Your colleagues will be cursing you behind your back.”

Someone else agreed, writing: ”I find this quite difficult as one of the staff members who always had to fill on for multiple maternity for staff members.

”The system makes the mum the bad guy and colleagues resent the extra work.”

A third chimed in: ”I would be furious.”

Fortunately for the Aussie, there was also plenty of support from fellow parents, with many sharing their own experiences.

When do you have to tell your employer you’re pregnant

It’s an exciting time for any parents-to-be – but when do you need to inform your employer that you’re expecting a baby?

The Gov.uk site says: ”Employees must tell their employer about the pregnancy at least 15 weeks before the beginning of the week the baby is due.

”If this is not possible (for example because they did not know they were pregnant) the employer must be told as soon as possible.

”Employees must also tell the employer when they want to start their Statutory Maternity Leave and Statutory Maternity Pay.”

”I went back for TWO weeks before starting my next round of mat leave,” said one mum.

Another hit back at the trolls: ”Why are people soooo mad??

”It’s normal to have a few kids after another, yes you might be off for a bit but it doesn’t compare for decades of employee lifetime which is better than a turnover! Congrats.”

After finding herself slammed by keyboard warriors Dana, too, had something to say.

” People will take any chance they can get to drag someone else down. Especially if it’s a woman in the workplace.”
