McDonald’s fans are all saying the same thing about the new Chicken Big Mac

McDonald's is bringing back the Chicken Big Mac from October 10

The Chicken Big Mac has finally arrived in the US, but not everyone is loving it.

McDonald’s latest offering ditches the traditional beef patties for tempura-battered chicken patties.

The rest of the beloved recipe – including the iconic sauce, lots of lettuce and the center bun – is the same.

Americans who discussed the new menu item — from customers on X and Reddit to food experts who reviewed it — gave a mixed verdict.

But one thing most people agree on is that the two patties resemble giant Chicken McNuggets.

“It’s basically two HUGE Chicken McNuggets replacing the beef patties,” user My_Goggle wrote on X.

Others made the same observation, but overall gave the new version of the Big Mac a negative rating.

Timothy Jimothy tweeted: ‘The chicken is basically a large version of their chicken nugget, which tastes very bland at that size.

‘The McChicken is an elite menu sandwich with a nice peppery flavor. I don’t understand why they didn’t use it.’

Another X user wrote: “So I had a Chicken Big Mac today. Not only is it not a Big Mac, but there is way too much breadcrumbs on the two pieces of fried chicken.”

There are also enthusiasts. Alyssa Rose, daughter of Mets announcer Howie Rose, received praise called it ‘the greatest culinary creation of our lives’ on X.

And food editor Taryn Pire wrote in her review for PureWow: ‘I feel like the salty pickles and tangy signature sauce shine brighter on the chicken patties (which taste like oversized McNuggets – no issues there) than the beef.

‘It also feels like a sturdier handheld than the original, rather than bread-like, as the beef patties are quite thin.’

McDonald’s said fans in the U.S. have been asking for the Chicken Big Mac since it first appeared on McDonald’s menus internationally.

It costs about $5.50, but will be cheaper in some areas and more expensive in others.

Its arrival in the US – after years of being sold on and off in Europe – was first rumored in August.

“With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we’re excited to pay tribute to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” said Tariq Hassan, head of marketing and customer experience . official at McDonald’s USA, said.

The Chicken Big Mac is the latest new menu item from McDonald’s this year.

In January, the Double Big Mac — with four beef patties instead of two and extra sauce — returned for a limited time. It cost about $7 and was a hit when it was on sale for a month.

Then in August, the chain announced that an all-new, larger burger called The Big Arch would be coming to the US later this year. It’s already in Canada.

It will be the fast food giant’s first new permanent global product since Chicken McNuggets in 1983.

It has also emerged that fan-favorite bagels are back on breakfast menus after four years.

Bagels were first introduced at McDonald’s in late 2019, but were quickly cut when bosses simplified the menu in spring 2020 amid the pandemic.
