Stranger Things’ newest star Linda Hamilton’s character revealed in first-look photos from fifth and final season

Stranger Things fans are getting a first look at the show’s newest addition as the series winds down.

Terminator star Linda Hamilton was reported way back in June of 2023 to be joining the hit Netflix series, but it took more than a year for her to get in front of the camera.

The 68-year-old actress was pictured on Wednesday as she shot a scene on set in Palmetto, Georgia.

Few details have been released about her character, but she appeared to be dressed in a costume of dark green military-style fatigues.

Hamilton was also picture standing next to vehicle painted in the same shade that also appeared as if it could be for military purposes.

Her costume appeared to be a jumpsuit with a thick belt around her slim midriff.

The top half was left open to reveal another green shirt underneath it, and her character appeared to be fittingly dressed in combat boots.

Hamilton usually displays dirty blond locks, but she swapped them out for a short gray hairdo that was swept to the side.

She was reportedly filming in front of the building that serves as the exterior for the WSQK radio station that has previously been featured in Stranger Things.

In one of the first-look photos, she was pictured standing among other crew members as they appeared to watch a scene played back on a monitor.

Back in February, Hamilton revealed that her casting in Stranger Things was a mixed blessing.

She gushed to Us Weekly that she was a huge fan who had ‘watched every season with relish,’ adding that she ‘just love[s]’the series.

But Hamilton also has a long-standing habit of never watching films or television shows that she appears in, which has put her fandom to the test.

‘When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it,’ she explained. ‘So I think, in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project]once I’m in something.’

‘It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there,’ she continued. ‘So I won’t be watching [Season 5].’

The actress revealed that the creators, Ross and Matt Duffer, shared details about her character on a video chat but refused to give her details about the final season’s plot

Hamilton shared that the show’s creators, Ross and Matt Duffer, had explained details about her character over a video chat session, but they had avoided sharing much of the final season’s plot in hopes of avoiding leaks.

‘It takes a lot of discipline to not know where it’s going to go. But that’s to protect it from all of the people that want to know,’ Hamilton said.

It was previously announced that the fifth season of Stranger Things would also be the long-running show’s last.

Netflix hasn’t yet announced a premiere date, but the show is expected to air sometime in 2025.
