I’m an air hostess & the Mile High Club is actually very common – I catch strangers having sex, here’s how we handle it

GETTING frisky mid flight is a fantasy for many passengers wanting to join the Mile High Club.

And one flight attendant, known as @almostcoolmom on Instagram, saw an abundance of wild dalliances during her 32-year-career.

Recently, randy couple Bradley Smith, 22, and Antonia Sullivan, 20, were escorted off an EasyJet flight when they began performing a sex act just minutes after take off.

Witnesses described seeing ‘vigorous hand movements’ coming from underneath a pile of coats which the couple had placed over Bradley’s lap.

And the young lovers, who were ordered to do community service as punishment, aren’t the only ones to have enjoyed a bit of friskiness in the air.

Our flight attendant, 54, who asked not to be named, revealed how it’s actually pretty common, and reckons that almost every cabin crew worker has witnessed a couple getting too close in flight.

She says: “Can you imagine If we suddenly had turbulence and those mile-high clubbers got injured in a vicarious position?

“That would make for an awkward PA asking if there’s a doctor on board!”

However, she says some of the cabin crew applaud couples when they sheepishly exit the bathroom together.

“Most people don’t realise flight attendants can open a locked lavatory door when necessary for safety and emergency situations.” she reveals.

“Perhaps, if those mile-high clubbers knew that, they wouldn’t be so bold.”

And if you’ve ever noticed the seatbelt sign flashing intermittently on a flight it could mean a couple sitting nearby have been spotted getting frisky by crew.

The tell-tale sign that couples are up to no good is if she sees them getting cosy under a blanket.

“Incidents that happen at their seats are usually during night flights where the lights are turned down”, she reveals.

And she thinks it’s the rush of adrenaline which passengers crave.

“Sometimes it’s as simple as two uninhibited people, drunk or sober getting caught up in the moment,” she adds.

Is joining the mile high club actually illegal?

HAVING sex during a flight might sound exciting to some, but it comes with a risk of getting caught and landing yourself in legal trouble.

Many over the years have bragged about joining the so-called ‘Mile-High Club’ – but here’s what the law says.

There is no such law in Britain that forbids someone from having sex on a plane.

However, there are some offences you’re at risk of committing.

Under section 71 of the Sexual Offences Act 2004, it is illegal to have sex in a toilet which the public has access to.

Offenders risk a six-month prison sentence or a £1,000 fine.

Outraging public decency under common law could also be argued if it was proven that at least one person may have seen the act.

The most shocking incident of her career was when two complete strangers got cosy after too many drinks.

“The woman started getting loud and giggly,” she recalls.

“Then I saw her sitting on top of the man with a blanket covering them from the waist down.

“I couldn’t believe it. There were many other people on that flight who noticed.

“I asked the lady to return to her seat and fasten her seatbelt!”
