The 2025 World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) is heading to South Africa for the first time, after being included in to the five-round W2RC calendar.
Set to take place from May 18 to May 24, 2025, the South African Safari Rally will be based at Sun City Resort in the North West Province. The event will replace the Desafío Ruta 40 rally in Argentina and marks the first time a Sub-Saharan African country hosts a W2RC race.
From 18 to 24 May 2025, the world’s top rally drivers and motorcycle riders will gather at the iconic Sun City Resort for the South African Safari Rally. Over the course of five thrilling days, participants will navigate some of the country’s most rugged terrain, with the resort serving as the central hub for the action-packed event.
The event promises an exhilarating mix of scenic routes and extreme challenges, including a grueling marathon stage. Competitors will face a variety of terrain, from sweeping savannahs and rough back roads to demanding mountain passes, showcasing South Africa’s unique landscapes to the global rally audience.
The South African round of W2RC is set to be a standout event in the 2025 rally season, attracting the best rally drivers and teams to compete on African soil for the first time in W2RC history.
