There’s a new Rolls Royce in the Kaizer Chiefs parking lot

Not literally. Kaizer Chiefs have a new, exciting talent emerging at the club and we’d love to tell you more about him. Is Mama Joy interested?

Kaizer Chiefs are excited about a new Rolls Royce

Amakhosi’s technical team have uncovered another gem. His name is Royce Malatji and he seems to be a player capable of playing several positions. The most talented youngsters often can. With a name like Royce, perhaps he’s destined for the top.

“He is just 16 years old but he is very good. He can play at right back, central defence, right-wing or even as a central midfielder. It doesn’t matter where he plays – he is just good!,” the Siya crew stated on SoccerLaduma.

“That’s why both technical teams have agreed that he joins the senior team. He has a great future ahead of him and they want to nurture him in the right environment,” they added.

Chiefs must wait for their next Betway Prem match

Amakhosi, meanwhile, have 11 days to wait until their next Betway Premiership fixture. They’ve started this campaign in decent fashion, with two wins from three, and a recent defeat to Sundowns. Their goal, of course, will be to compete for next season’s MTN8 at a minimum. Here are their next few fixtures once the international break comes to a close:

  • SuperSport United – Saturday, October 26, Lucas Moripe Stadium, 17:30
  • Magesi FC – Wednesday, October 30, Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, 19:30
  • Royal AM – Sunday, November 9 – FNB Stadium, 17:30

Dortley is now a regular for Bafana Bafana

22-year-old central defender Rushwin Dortley has quickly become an indispensable member of the Chiefs first team. That truth is mirrored by the national team where he’s started three consecutive matches for South Africa. He’s widely expected to do so again in Brazzaville against Congo on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Teboho Mokoena’s brace and goals from Bathusi Aubaas, Lyle Foster and substitute Iqraam Rayners completed the 5-0 rout for Bafana over lowly Congo. Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker Themba ‘Mshishi’ Zwane brought up his 50th cap on the night. South Africa has seven points from three qualifying matches and faces Congo in the return leg on Monday 15 October.

Starting XI vs Congo: Williams; Mudau, Kekana, Dortley, Modiba; Aubaas, Mokoena; Mokwana, Appollis; Foster, Zwane

Subs used: Iqraam Rayners, Relebohile Mofokeng, Thapelo Morena, Luke Le Roux, Sinoxolo Kwayiba.
