Winners of ‘I Voted’ sticker design contest announced

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The El Paso County Board of Commissioners has announced the winners of the “I Voted” sticker design contest.

The Board said it received about 140 original designs from first to 12th graders. Each year, two students from each category (Elementary, Middle, and High School) are awarded. The contest allows the younger generations to participate in the election process, even though they aren’t old enough to vote yet.

The board hopes this initiative inspires the younger generation and reminds active voters of the importance of participating in the election process.

“It was a joy for me to see what ‘I Voted’ meant to our winners and how they used their talent to translate it into their design,” said El Paso County Clerk & Recorder Steve Schleiker. “These meaningful and impactful pieces of art truly capture the essence of civic pride and the importance of voting. Their creativity and talent shine through, and I can’t wait to see their design proudly worn by voters across the entire county.”

The winning sticker designs will be included in all election ballot packets that were sent to active, registered voters on Friday, Oct. 11. All six winners will receive a gift card for their classroom.
