Go inside one of the most expensive homes for sale in California

A massive, opulent compound in Los Angeles’ Westside is turning heads with its laundry list of amenities and mind-boggling price tag.

The home, located at 607 Siena Way in Bel-Air, even has its own name: Villa Siena.

The stunning property was imagined by famed luxury architect Ardie Tavangarian, who has designed homes for some of the wealthiest and most well-known people on the planet, including filmmaker and former Walt Disney Studios head Jeffrey Katzenberg and businessman and restaurateur Peter Morton.

The 8-bedroom, 24-bathroom (yes, 24) home is currently listed for a whopping $177 million, making it one of—if not the most—expensive homes for sale in California.

The estate measures over 35,000 square feet and is centered around a primary suite that boasts a retractable roof for stargazing. The home also features a spa with hot and cold plunge pools, a hydrotherapy chamber, a screening room, a bar and a six-car garage “auto gallery.”

In the center of the home sits a four-story, bronze-finished staircase suspended from the ceiling, looking as if it’s floating on air, with a reflecting pool at its base. A massive wine room is accessible through antique Moroccan doors estimated to be over 200 years old.

Outside, the home features a “sauna pod” with a glass wall that allows guests to admire the nearby Bel-Air Country Club’s golf course.

The online listing for Villa Siena describes the exterior of the home as being inspired by nature with design elements that hearken to the elements of fire and water.

“The exterior is clad entirely in natural materials like teak and stone,” the listing reads. “Designed to feel like it’s in the jungle, the spa has lush plantings on the ceiling and LED screens playing videos of tropical birds.”

The home is being listed by the Beverly Hills Estates, a global luxury real estate brand that has successfully brokered hundreds of millions of real estate deals across Southern California.

The property recently caught the attention of the popular real estate oddity blog Zillow Gone Wild, which said of Villa Siena: “Of all of the mega mansions we’ve ever seen, this is probably one of the coolest, most insane ones.”

Tavangarian began acquiring the land to build Villa Siena back in 2018, purchasing the first 1.3 acres for $11 million. He’s expanded the property since then, and it was “largely completed” by November 2023, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Rather than list the home right away, Tavangarian said he wanted to make sure all the finishing touches were completed, including having all the furnishings in place, as his firm waited out a nadir in the luxury real estate market.

“We’re in a little bit of uncertain times in our history, and I felt that I wanted real perfection and to have everything completely done,” Tavangarian said.

Photos shared with KTLA show that no expense, or wild concept, were spared by Tavangarian and his company.

Now, all that’s left is for a buyer to come forward, and as the Wall Street Journal reports, L.A.’s luxury market is already bouncing back. It could be only a matter of time before someone stakes their claim and lays roots down at Villa Siena in the hills of Bel-Air.
