Cris Collinsworth begged to retire after ‘torture’ SNF performance and Mahomes ‘remarks’ – even though he wasn’t playing

NFL fans have begged Cris Collinsworth to retire after his latest broadcast on NBC.

The veteran analyst was alongside Mike Tirico for the Cincinnati Bengals against New York Giants.

The 65-year-old was in his usual Sunday Night Football slot for the 17-7 win for Joe Burrow‘s side.

But his performance on the broadcast had fans upset, with a number of his remarks annoying viewers.

It was feared he could reference Patrick Mahomes – even though the Kansas City Chiefs star wasn’t playing.

Fans at home have accused Collinsworth of favoring the MVP Super Bowl-winning quarterback in the past.

However, he let the Chiefs QB have a night off from being talked about.

SNF viewers were also put out to another wild remark about Giants star Dexter Lawrence.

He refereed to the 26-year-old nose tackle as ‘Sexy Dexy’ on air.

Collinsworth also talked about Josh Allen, again, even though he wasn’t playing.

This, along with Mahomes, and numerous other comments led to criticism on social media.

One said: “Cris Collinsworth calling a Bengals game is torture.”

A X user said: “Please retire Collinsworth. It’s about time.”

Another added: “Listening to Cris Collinsworth makes watching football games very unenjoyable.”

A third commented: “Sunday Night football. KC with a bye week.

“I thought Collinsworth might be better with no Mahomes. Nope still terrible.”

And a one said: “Cris Collinsworth gotta be trolling with the mahomes glaze.”

Patrick Mahomes’ endorsements

Patrick Mahomes earns over $50 million per season from his Kansas City Chiefs contract.

But the superstar quarterback also cashes in on his brand off the field.

Mahomes has a reported net worth of $70 million.

And that’s in no small part down to some of the brand he endorses.

The Chiefs star is the face of Adidas in the United States and appears in State Farm commercials.

He also pops up on adverts for Subway and Head and Shoulders.

Mahomes also became the face of energy drink Prime, which is owned by Logan Paul and KSI.

Another replied: “Collinsworth will still find a way to glaze Mahomes tonight.”

But others defended Collinsworth, describing him as the best color commentator on TV.

“Collinsworth is far and away the best color commentator we have in the game,” one said.

Another added: “Cris Collinsworth is the greatest mouth on TV.

“Giants and Bengals played on Sunday both have losing record.

“Somehow he has these players heading to Canton.”

Collinsworth – a former NFL wide receiver – has been on NBC‘s Sunday Night Football since 2009.
