Brit tourist, 62, dies after being ‘pulled from the water’ at beach in Cyprus hols hotspot resort

A BRITISH tourist has died while swimming at a Cyprus holiday hotspot today.

The 62-year-old was pulled from the water at a beach in Peyia after he disappeared from sight.

Peyia municipality is 6km north of the city of Paphos, Cyprus[/caption]

He was brought to the shore where emergency crews performed CPR on him, but the man did not survive, SigmaLive reported.

The man was then rushed to Paphos General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The exact cause of his death is expected to be established after the mandatory autopsy.

Peyia is a popular tourist destination about 6km north of Paphos on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean island.
