(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said on Sunday, Oct. 13 officers were called to a body found near the interstate in downtown Colorado Springs.
According to CSPD, on Sunday a little before 6 p.m. police got a call about a body between I-25 and the railroad tracks, near the West Bijou Street exit. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office responded. CSPD tells FOX21 News that due to some suspicious circumstances surrounding the body, the coroner’s office contacted the Homicide Unit for a consultation.
At this time CSPD said the coroner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death and are waiting on word from the coroner for more information.
