A beloved member of the Home and Away production crew has passed away.
Bruce Murray, who worked as a key figure behind the scenes of the soap, had been fighting a battle stage 4 esophageal cancer for more than a year before his death.
Past and present stars of the long-running Seven show took to social media to remember their beloved colleague.
Emily Weir, who plays the character Mackenzie in the series, included a clip in her tribute of Murray joking about the Home and Away set.
She captioned the video: “I love you Brucey, beautiful thing.”
Sarah Roberts, who left the series in 2021, posted a virtual “scrapbook” of Home and Away cast and crew members with a photo of Murray.
“What a man, never a dull moment on set or on the dance floor,” Sarah wrote on her Instagram stories on Monday.
“One of the reasons I loved going to work…couldn’t stop giggling at his jokes and his dance moves. I’ll miss you Brucey!’

The sad news about Murray’s illness first emerged in October 2023, when A Go Fund Me page was launched to raise money for Bruce’s family while he underwent treatment.
“Recently, our beloved, good friend Bruce Murray was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer, which has unfortunately entered his bloodstream and formed multiple cancers on his bones – ribs, spine, collarbone, sacrum and hips,” his wife explained. GFM page out. .
