Content Creator Awards celebrate South Africa’s top digital talent

The third annual DStv Content Creator Awards lit up Johannesburg’s Nelson Mandela Square on 12 October 2024.

A BIG NIGHT AT THE CONTENT CREATOR AWARDS

It was a night filled with excitement, innovation, and celebration of South Africa’s top digital creators, according to Full View.

Hosted by the ever-charming Anele Mdoda, the event created an unforgettable atmosphere.

The purpose-built venue added a sense of intimacy to the star-studded evening. Creators, fans, and industry leaders all gathered to celebrate the best in digital content.

INFLUENCERS ON THE PURPLE CARPET AT THE CONTENT CREATOR AWARDS

The purple carpet outside was buzzing with energy. Fans were eager to catch a glimpse of their favourite influencers, and the air was thick with anticipation.

As the creators strutted their stuff, the excitement was palpable.

Inside the venue, guests were treated to performances from the Bontle Modiselle Dance Studio. Drag artists Manila von Teez and Ina Propriette also shared thier performances.

Appearances by stars like Lasizwe and Christall Kay, kept the audience entertained.

THE BIG WINNERS AT THE CONTENT CREATOR AWARDS

It was the award winners who truly stole the show.

Top honours of the night went to Zoliswa Mahlobo, who walked away with a luxurious five-night trip to Mauritius. This was courtesy of Flight Centre and Beachcomber Resorts and Hotels.

CASH PRIZES FOR THE WINNERS

Sifo the Cooking Husband was also a big winner, taking home both the Foodie Award and the coveted DStv Creator of the Year Award.

Sifo also pocketed a cool R20,000 from DStv, making his night even more special.

Another double winner was Chris Rogers, who scooped up both the Travel & Lifestyle Award and the Best Creator Campaign Content Award.

He received these awards for his work on Bonaqua’s ‘Chug Life’ campaign.

CONTENT CREATION IN SOUTH AFRICA

Meanwhile, Colour Me Simphiwe dazzled, not only by winning the Beauty Award, but also for taking home the Spirit of Africa Award.

Charis Coleman, Head of Digital Content at MultiChoice South Africa, had this to say about the night, “As Africa’s biggest storyteller, DStv is proud to celebrate the incredible talent.

They are driving innovation across digital platforms. These awards highlight the creativity shaping the future of content and sharing Africa’s stories with the world.”

THE CONTENT CREATOR AWARDS AFTER PARTY

The night wasn’t just about the awards though. The Channel O After Party at Hard Rock Café made sure the fun continued well into the night.

Ms Cosmo and the Pandemic Boyz kept the crowd on their feet, while the drinks flowed freely. It was the perfect end to a dazzling evening.

SOUTH AFRICAN TALENT

Event founder Manuela Dias de Deus reflected on the success of the night.
