Kassy, from Atlanta, went to her local Aldi store to seek out some bargains, and it’s safe to say she wasn’t disappointed.

The bargain hunter, who revealed she is currently on a “health journey” had a $90 budget.

“As I continue my health journey it’s importnat to explore more grocery stores and more foods and shop smarter with my money.

“I’m very pleased with what I was able to grab from Aldi,” Kassy caption the video she shared to TikTok.

Before getting started with her haul, Kassy knew she had to come “prepared” though – that meant bringing a quarter with her for the shopping cart.

“Y’all told me to have my quarter ready to get that cart, so I came prepared,” she said as she fetched the cart from outside the store.

Once inside, her first impression were good, although she admitted it was slightly overwhelming not knowing where the items were located.

Fruit was the main thing on her shopping list, and Aldi didn’t disapoint.

The store had plenty of juicy, fresh fruit on offer and the prices were budgrte-friendly.

Kassy also needed meats to meal prep for the week ahead, and she was pleasantly surprised by the range of food available.

“Even though they don’t have a lot of name brand stuff they do have the majority of the things I do shop for at other stores,” she said.

After grabbing everything she needed, Kassy headed home and showed off her cheap and cheerful haul of goodies.

As well as staples like eggs, chicken and frozen vegetables the shopper also picked up some cupcakes, lemonade, and a whole lot of fruit.

From fresh pineapple to strawberries, lemons, grapes and kiwi – Aldi’s selection was more than enough to satisfy Kassy.

She also grabbed some pantry must haves, including seasoning, coffee, cookies, salad dressing and plenty of bread.

Kassy even picked up a bottle of Aperol Spritz from the grocery store.

All in all, the shopping haul came to $100, which she confessed was more than she wanted to spend, but she still got a lot of bang for her buck.

“I may be back,” she said.

Other shoppers loved the haul and raved about their selection of goodies in the comment section.

“I love Aldi,” one said before sharing some of their favourite buys from the store.

“They have great produce and meat, and the bread is always good,” they added.

A second chimed in: “Their dips are really good too!”

Meanwhile, someone else recommended the General Tso chicken and pulled chicken next time she visits the store.

How to cut the cost of your grocery shop

BELOW are some tips on how to reduce the amount you spend on groceries.

  • Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
  • Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
  • Never shop hungry – You are far more likely to buy  more food if your tummy is rumbling
  • Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
  • Use social media – Follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
  • Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
  • Check the small print –  It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
  • Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards
