The trend first began when TikTokers noticed that celebrities often mentioned Beyonce in their reward speeches.
Britney Spears, Lizzo, Lady Gaga and Adele are just some of the celebrities who shouted out the hit maker in their speeches.
Thank Beyonce conspiracy theories
Some users even joked that not paying tribute to Beyonce can have fatal consequences.
One user suggested that Kanye West’s controversial interruption of Taylor Swift’s speech was an attempt to save her life.
That moment, where Kanye stole Taylor’s thunder to say that Swift’s trophy should have gone to Beyonce, sparked a feud between the West and Swift that continues to this day.
Other fans have said that artists thank the Single Ladies singer so that they don’t get on the bad side of her legion of fans.
Although, they could simply be paying tribute to Beyonce for inspiring them.
Beyonce’s own gratitude
Beyonce has also been known to pay tribute to her idols that have inspired her throughout her career.
When she released the Break My Soul Remix with Madonna, she sent the Queen of Pop a bouquet of flowers and a note.
The note read: “Thank you, Queen.
“I am so grateful for you.
“You have opened so many doors for so many women.
“You are a masterpiece genius.”
The note continued: “Thank you for allowing me to sing in your song and thank you for naming the remix. Love always and forever, B.”
Madonna replied: “Thank you!! from one queen to another queen. I love the remix!”
