So why wait until December when you can start spreading holiday cheer now?

In the last month there have been 134,000 searches for ‘Christmas decorations’.

And with searches up 181% in the last 90 days, homeowners want to decorate for Christmas as soon as possible.

And one person in particular, the countdown to Christmas has officially begun.

Bobbie-Jo Pritchard, 24, from Wales, has recently risen to fame on TikTok after she shared that she decorated for Christmas on the 1st September.

With her page, @bobbiejochristmas, receiving upwards of 800,000 views per video, TikTokers have been amazed with Bobbie-Jo’s commitment to the festive season.

One commented: “This has got to be the best thing I’ve seen this year ngl” and another saying, “This is awesome!!”.

In light of her love for Christmas, she revealed exactly why she decorates so early.

Talking to Wayfair UK, she says: “I began my Christmas decorating on 1 September.

“For the last three years of me being in my own home, we have been putting our decorations up in September.

“Christmas has always been a big celebration in my family.

“Growing up, my mum was putting our Christmas trees up in October and we would make a big celebration of it.

“Christmas brings me a joyous feeling that I’ve never experienced with anything else, and I can’t quite explain why I love it so much apart from the insane amount of joy that it brings me.

“So the moment the calendar turns to the ‘ber’ months is when I like to put them up.”

Decorating early has been proven to give people a boost, therefore, the earlier you decorate, the better

Bobbie-Jo has managed to find some festive bargains already from stores including Home Bargains and The Range

These include Grinch theme pyjamas, glittering baubles, and a set of three 4ft tall trees for £49.99.

She even got a great buy on her Christmas tree which she bought from the Wrexham Christmas and Halloween factory.

In fact, experts have even revealed exactly when you should be decorating for Christmas.

Christmas came early

Daniela Venturini, art director and trend forecaster from Wayfair UK comments: “Tradition states the best time to decorate for Christmas is four Sundays before Christmas Day, but we have seen that now more than ever people are choosing to decorate early.

“Decorating early has been proven to give people a boost, therefore, the earlier you decorate, the better.

However, it is recommended to avoid purchasing a real tree more than four weeks before Christmas.

Daniela continues: ”Decorating early, can come with its problems though.

“One thing to steer away from is over-decorating as this can overwhelm a home and make it look slightly cluttered.

“If you want to get in the Christmas spirit right now, decorate minimally for now and build it up the sooner it gets to the festivities.

“Additionally, if you’re a fan of a real Christmas tree over an artificial one, hold off purchasing it until late November as they tend to only last for around four weeks.

“The last thing you want is for your Christmas tree not to be at its best on the most wonderful day of the year!”
