Upcoming are three league fixtures on the bounce and then a tricky trip to Algeria where they could be on a collision course with former Cape Town City man Khanyisa Mayo. Caf Champions League holders Al Ahly visit Orlando Stadium in early December in a crunch group clash which you simply can’t miss.

Pirates are back in Africa’s premier club competition after successfully negotiating a playoff tie with Jwaneng Galaxy. The Buccaneers will kick off a tasty-looking Group C with a trip to Algerian champions Belouizdad on Saturday 26 November. There, they’re likely to renew acquaintances with former Cape Town City star Khanyisa Mayo. Pirates are brimming with confidence after winning yet another trophy under Jose Riveiro; this time they beat Stellenbosch in the MTN8 final.

Orlando Pirates receive R22 million, and the number could grow
Pirates are back at the top table of African continental competition following their routine aggregate win over Jwaneng Galaxy. They’ll participate in the 2024-2024 Caf Champions League group stages, and they bank a minimum of R12 million in the process. Advancement to the quarter-finals would swell Pirates’ earnings to R15.6 million and the money keeps on getting better the further they go. Add the R10 million they just banked from their MTN8 final and the shareholders are laughing all the way to the bank.
