The Lakers champ explained all about his lifestyle to Ellen Degeneres in 2018

Shaq spoke about his humble abode in Orlando on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018.

First while talking about the history of the property, Shaq said: “I bought it when it was 25,000 square feet.

“Then I had a ten-bedroom guesthouse built and four full basketball courts built.”

One would imagine that he lived an incredibly active lifestyle in his magnificent old house.

But when DeGeneres asked him how many rooms he uses in this sprawling mansion, he said: “Only two rooms. The kitchen because I like to eat.

“And the bedroom, because I like to sleep. That’s it.”

DeGeneres then asked: “What about the living room or a den?”

To which Shaq shook his head, responding: “No, I never go to the theater, never go to the gym.”

The four-time NBA finals champ later revealed that he felt lonely in the property

DeGeneres then asked Shaq how many bathrooms were in his house, to which he casually replied: I think 15.”

The mansion in Windermere, Florida, was packed with extravagant features, including a 17-car showroom, a cigar room and a wine cellar.

It had a custom theater and even a Miami Heat-themed basketball court.

However, Shaq admitted during a podcast interview that the property didn’t always bring him happiness.

He opened up about feeling lonely in the mansion after his separation from his ex-wife, Shaunie Nelson.

He said: “I built this house for them.

“But after the divorce, I would come home to a 76,000-square-foot house with nobody there but me. That was the worst part.”

Shaq lost a significant amount of money after selling the house of $11 million.

It was a discount of roughly 60 per cent compared with his original price of $28 million.

The deal ended a three-year saga that saw him tap five different agents to try to sell the place.

The four-acre grounds also include a tiki-style cabana and 700 feet of Lake Butler front with a private dock.
