A MISSING horseback rider has been found dead – days after disappearing while on a trail.
Meghan Rouns’ remains were discovered by divers as they combed the Missouri River on Tuesday afternoon.
The tragic development came five days after the avid horseback rider disappeared while on a trail in Helena, Montana, on October 4.
Her remains were discovered after officials revealed the search for the woman, 27, had turned into a recovery probe.
Police revealed her body was found in 11 feet of water, as reported by the NBC affiliate KTVH-DT.
A cause of death has not yet been announced as forensic teams examine her remains.
Police don’t believe there was any foul play but are probing how the body ended up in the water.
Officers are probing whether Rouns fell off her horse because of the winds, as reported by The New York Post.
Cops revealed they had deployed divers to scour areas of the Missouri River.
Rouns was last heard on Friday when she uploaded a picture to her Snapchat account.
