The Weeknd busted mumbling the words to one of his biggest hits in Melbourne as fans speculate he forgot the lyrics: ‘He’s over this damn song’

The Weeknd was caught at one of his recent shows in Melbourne fumbling the words to his own song

The Weeknd was caught fumbling the words to his own song during one of his recent shows in Melbourne.

The Canadian superstar, 34, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was captured in a TikTok video during the Australian leg of his After Hours Til Dawn tour.

The video appeared to show that the singer could not remember the lyrics to his hit song Starboy.

Instead of singing legible words, he hummed and scatted to the melody.

In the caption, TikTok user TT76544 wrote, “Anyone notice The Weeknd mumbling the lyrics?”

Fans in the comments speculated that he had either forgotten one of his biggest hits or was simply tired of singing.

‘He definitely didn’t forget STARBOY, this was HIS song. Time goes by so fast,” one fan commented.

“He was just bored,” wrote another, while a third said: “He’s so done with this damn song.”

“The song is almost ten years old, he has over a hundred songs in his discography and he just got attacked by a lunatic on stage. Let’s leave Abel alone for a while,” someone else begged.

“I thought he was making fun of some people singing,” another fan said, along with a crying laughing emoji.

It comes as some fans were left disappointed by the first show of the Australian leg of his tour on Saturday.

The singer-songwriter took to the stage in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium at 8.45pm – 15 minutes later than scheduled.

He then abruptly ended his set at approximately 10:30 p.m., causing concertgoers to flock to TikTok and slam the artist for the short duration of his $270+ per ticket concert.

One fan uploaded a video of herself to the social media site as she sat perplexed in the stadium seats, watching as visitors left the venue.

“Tell me I’m not the only one who thought it was over way too quickly,” she captioned the short clip.

Followers flocked to her comments to agree, with one person writing: “No, literally, he just walked away.”

“It was such a disappointing ending,” said another, while a third commented: “He came so late.”

‘Jacket!! We waited forever for him to come but before we knew it it was over,” another added.

Someone else said: ‘My kids went and they loved it, but he started late and finished early because of the price.’

“My blood is still boiling,” one fan grumbled.

“He arrived late, left early, left without an encore and didn’t play Moth to a Flame, one of his BIGGEST songs. Too anticlimactic.’
