JESSIE Phoenix Jopling is no ordinary 18 year old – her mum is a renowned British film-maker, her dad is a hip art dealer and her step dad is in the running to play James Bond.
The strawberry blonde teen is the offspring of director Sam Taylor-Johnson and her ex, gallerist Jay Jopling.
Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam, who is now married to James Bond frontrunner Aaron Taylor-Johnson recently took to instagram to wish her daugheter happy birthday.
Sam wrote on Instagram: “18. My darling Phoenix. Happy Birthday. You are everything and more. I love you. I am so proud to be your Mummy.”
She shared a selection of photographs including an image of her daughter pouting into the lens, photos of the duo with their arms around each other and a few cute pics of her as a child with scribbles over her face and wearing a rock ‘n’ roll T-shirt.
Famous friends including David Furnish commented: “Happy Birthday Gorgeous!!”
Isla Fisher wrote: “Happy birthday fellow ginger.”
“Happy Birthday gorgeous girl,” added Minnie Driver.
While Jessie has grown up with parents in the spotlight, this intensified just over a decade ago when Sam married The Fall Guy actor Aaron, who is 23 years younger than her, in 2012.
The pair met on the set of 2009’s Nowhere Boy when Aaron, then 19, auditioned for 42-year-old director Sam, and eventually bagged the role of John Lennon.
Talking about their age gap, he told Rolling Stone previously: “What you gotta realise is that what most people were doing in their twenties, I was doing when I was 13.
“You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me.”
Sam told Harper’s Bazaar in 2019 about their intense romance: “As soon as we finished (filming), he told me he was going to marry me. We had never been on a date, or even kissed.”
Aaron added: “And a year to the minute after we met, exactly one year to the minute, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.”
Aaron and Sam welcomed their first child together, Wylda Rae, in 2010. Two years later, they married and had their second daughter, Romy.
As well as his biological kids, Aaron is also a stepfather to Jessie and her sister, actress and writer Angelica Jopling, 28, whom Sam also shares with her ex-husband Jay, 61.
The Marvel actor has described the family unit as his ‘four gorgeous daughters’.
The couple celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary and renewed their vows in June 2022.
The Kick-Ass actor wrote on Instagram: “Yesterday was the most beautiful day, summer solstice, our 10th anniversary. We renewed our vows to one another and confessed our love in front of our nearest and dearest friends and family it was a celebration of love and joy!
“A decade of marriage. It was a magical unforgettable day and the sun did not stop shining on us both… we are blessed beyond belief. Sammy you are my love, my life, my soulmate, my wife, my world!”
