The westbound lanes of the 101 Freeway are closed through the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles due to a multi-car crash early Tuesday morning.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash just east of Fallbrook Avenue around 12:45 a.m.
Several people were injured in the collision, including at least two people who were taken from the scene in an ambulance. The extent of the injuries was unknown.
The crash forced the closure of all westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes as emergency crews responded to the scene.
The eastbound lanes have reopened but a SigAlert for all westbound traffic was extended for approximately two more hours at 4 a.m., the California Highway Patrol posted in an update on X, formerly Twitter.
All westbound traffic was being diverted off at Ventura Boulevard.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
