Rulani Mokwena faces punishment after ‘attacking’ referees

Wydad Casablanca’s head coach, Rulani Mokwena, could face punishment from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for criticizing the referees.

The 37-year-old coach lashed out at match officials following his team’s 1-1 draw against HUSA in Sunday. The stalemate saw Wydad miss out on a chance to move to the top of the Botola Pro League standings.

During the post-conference, Rulani Mokwena complained about referees, asking the media to report on bad officiating.

“I don’t talk about the referees, go watch [M’Baye] Mbaye’s foul inside the box there was no penalty. I won’t mention the club’s name, but I saw a similar penalty given in this league (Botola Pro Inwi),” he said.

Rulani Mokwena is not a fan of Moroccan referees

“And going to Europe there was a similar penalty that was given two days ago I saw it. Go to [Zakaria] Nassir, he was fouled inside the box, I don’t have a problem with the other side and today go watch [Mohamed] Moufid, there’s a situation with Moufid. I’m surprised just watching these things. You guys as the reporters, the journalists, you have to write about these,” he added.

“I don’t train with the referees,” Rulani Mokwena added as per GOAL.

” I don’t train referees so I can’t comment on them but what is important is to give a good image of Moroccan football.”

Since arriving in Morocco, Rulani has won two, drawn two and lost just once as a coach. Wydad currently occupies fifth in the Botola League after five matches played.

How long will Rulani last at Wydad?
