Gigi has apologized for part of it, but the rest of the situation has only escalated.
Dress to Impress, a brainchild of Gigi, is in the news for the wrong reasons. Gigi has been accused of threatening rival Roblox developers and making offensive comments about other members.
IT GIRL creator Sara, who has published a Twitter thread accusing Gigi of all the unsavoury actions, has levelled the allegations. She also charged Gigi with threatening her employees with legal action if they spoke out.
The unrest started in late September, and the swords were drawn between the two gaming communities with Roblox fashion game fans on one side and IT GIRL fans on the other side. Gigi has also issued an apology since the scandal erupted, but it has done little to calm the tempers.
“Dress to Impress” is the creation of Gigi on the Roblox platform and enables players to dress their characters as per a theme and later present their outfits on a runway. The outfits are then rated on a scale of one to five stars, and the player who achieves the highest star rating is the ultimate winner. The game has spawned lore around the fate of the NPC at the nail table named Lana during the months in 2023 when its popularity exploded.
Who is Gigi?
The creator of the game ‘Dress to Impress’ Gigi, who is only 17 years old, had created this game when she was only 14. However, her past mistakes, which she had committed when she was an adolescent, are coming back to haunt her.
Among the charges that Sara, creator of IT GIRL, has levelled against Gigi include ripping off DTI and also fatphobic comments about her on Discord.
Sara also alleged that a DTI employee had informed her of these remarks, including one that threatened to accuse Sara of rape to tarnish her reputation.
After a lot of negative comments, she deleted these comments, but the damage was done. Gigi has also been accused of mistreatment of one of her workers who was mentally ill and criticised him too harshly for his work.
