GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — According to the Greenville Police Department, a property owner was cleaning out an old building when he found skeletal remains. The building was once a funeral home and the owner of the funeral business died in January 2023.
The remains appeared to be old, some potentially from the 90s.
The Pitt County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that it was human remains in the building. They also discovered three other bodies while searching the property.
In total, four sets of human remains were taken in by the Medical Examiner’s office. The deaths of the discovered bodies, “do not appear to be criminal in nature,” according to a report given by Greenville Police Department.
Greenville Police Department is still investigating and working to see if there are any other remains on the property.
