Watch as Martine McCutcheon returns to pop career with cover of 90s classic for new LIDL advert

MARTINE McCutcheon has made a surprise return to pop music for a new LIDL advert.

The singer has performed a cover of 90s classic Ooh Aah… Just A Little Bit, cheekily renamed Ooh Aah… Just A Lidl Bit.

Martine is best known for her iconic acting roles and music career, but has been out of the spotlight for the past 15 years.

Following a sudden split from her husband after 18 years together, Martine has made a comeback – advertising for the budget superstore.

Wearing a stunning silver-sequinned jumpsuit, Martine sings and dances to the smash hit – which is littered with fun lyric changes, including: “Savings you just can’t ignore.”

A spokesman for the supermarket explained: “Found your new favourite song, babes x Introducing our new absolute banger starring the icon that is Martine McCutcheon – as well as a few other familiar faces – Gareth (founder of Huns Net), Charity Shop Sue (notorious bargain lover) and Diane from the Traitors (Faithful Hun).

“Fancy all the Lidl and a Lidl Bit More? Download the Lidl Plus app and you’ll be dancing down the aisles on your next big shop.”

Martine rose to fame playing Tiffany Mitchell in EastEnders for four years.

After leaving the BBC One soap, she had a No1 single in 1999 with This Is My Moment and her portrayal of Eliza Doolittle in a West End production of My Fair Lady won her an Olivier Award in 2002.

She then found worldwide fame when she landed the role of Natalie in Love, Actually.

She played the Downing Street tea lady who caught the eye of the Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) in 2003 rom-com.

She’s now been unveilled as the surprise celebrity host of the ‘Live, Laugh, Lidl’ Drag Brunches after partnering with Lidl to promote the Lidl Plus App, including brand new £10 off weekly shops and sweet bakery item offers.

Martine said: “I’m SO excited to be joining Gareth on stage as part of the Live, Laugh, Lidl Brunches, and I CANNOT wait for guests to witness the first-ever performance of the song!

“From getting my hands on all the fizzy rosé I could ask for, to living out my middle aisle fantasies in the music video, it’s been incredible to be part of the action, and I know huns around the country are going to absolutely love what we’ve got in store!”

Martine’s not the first celeb to collaborate with Lidl.

Rita Ora launched a budget hair care range and Heidi Klum revealed a ‘high-end’ fashion line.
