Emma Raducanu enjoys driving her beloved £5k second-hand Dacia as it emerges her £125k Porsche has been ‘taken back’

EMMA RADUCANU has always remained devoted to her beloved second-hand Dacia Sandero – which she bagged for £5,000 four years ago.

This comes after the Tennis ace reportedly had her classy Porsche “taken back” by the luxury car manufacturer.

But humble Raducanu had always promised to be remain loyal to her Dacia.

This is despite the fact that Porsche handed her a £125,000 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, with a top speed of 192mph in 2022.

Raducanu was given a car after becoming a ‘global brand ambassador’ for the German marque after her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2021 US Open.

But the Bromley star, who is world No.54, was adamant she’d never sell her first car – which was once Britain’s cheapest new vehicle.

Raducanu previously told The Sun: “My dad is Romanian and a Dacia was his first car. So, yeah, I have a white Dacia Sandero.

“It was funny, I passed my test three days before the first lockdown and we sort of knew it was going into lockdown, so we needed to buy a car ASAP.

“I bought it second-hand for £5,000. I take care of her. I’m never going to get rid of it.”

The 21-year-old was spotted cruising around in her slightly dusty 2017 white Sandero last month.

Dacia is a Romanian brand owned by Renault, with second-hand prices now starting from £2,000.

But with Raducanu a big Porsche fan since childhood, she’ll be disappointed to have lost access to her lavish sports car.

She was often spotted arriving to the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton in her 911 – but those days seem to be over for now.

One of Raducanu’s associates reportedly told The Mail: “Emma no longer has a Porsche.

“They took it back. It used to have pride of place at her home.”

A Porsche spokesperson added: “While we do on occasion loan Emma a car, this is very much on an ad hoc basis.”

Porsche also confirmed the rumours that the tennis star is no longer in possession of one its vehicles.

The company is known for its “swiftness” in removing vehicles from celebrity ambassadors if it doesn’t feel that it’s achieving value for money.

However, the same sources claim that Raducanu remains in her role as ambassador, with SunSport reaching out to her camp for comment.

Raducanu has earned millions as the face of Vodafone, HSBC, Evian, Dior and more since her stunning US Open triumph as a qualifier.
