THE Masked Singer US is back for a brand new series, and has already got people guessing.
Sailing into season 12 is Ship, who’s incredible voice has sent fan theories into overdrive.

Ship was introduced to The Masked Singer on September 25, 2024, when season 12 kicked off on Fox.
The fantastic character is a wooden pirate ship decked in a luxurious gown attire.
Her face resembles a map, and has a compass and anchor on it.
Ship’s elaborate costume also features two sailboats as shoulder pads.
The character’s hairstyle is in the form of wooden carved waves with a wheel in front.
The costume also features a wooden boat that Ship stands in and can step out of easily.
Songs Ship has sung so far
When Ship was introduced in week one, she sang Bastille’s hit song Pompeii.
In the second week, she belted out Almost Paradise by Mike Reno & Ann Wilson.
Some fans have called her the “best voice in the competition so far”.
Let’s take a look at the clues
Every week the Masked Singers give away clues as to their identity.
Ship’s ambassador is singer Jewel (Season 6 winner Queen of Hearts) who revealed that she’s always enjoyed a great relationship with the Ship.
This pair also both headlined the music festival Lilith Fair.
Ship also revealed: “I know how quickly the tides can change from angry to serene on a dime, and my life has been the same.

“My career set sail at a rapid clip. I had massive hits, made history, but I lost control.
“I became lost at sea, and at times felt totally forgotten.”
During week two – Footloose Week – Ship said: “I’m three degrees away from Kevin Bacon.
“I’m connected to Melissa Etheridge, who is connected to Whoopi Goldberg, who starred in Destination Anywhere with Kevin Bacon.”
Fan theories so far
The big theory being touted about is that Ship is Paula Cole, who famously sang the Dawson’s Creek theme tune, I Don’t Wanna Wait.
Fans think the character sounds exactly like the 90s star.
Taking to Reddit one wrote: “It’s Paula Cole. The voice is too familiar not to be.”
While another said: “This spot on Paula Clue! The clues match up!”
Another big name that has been mentioned a lot is Cyndi Lauper.
This fan wrote: “Cyndi was in and sang the Goonies song, she collaborated with Jewel on a song, I Want to be a Cowboy.
“She also had a song called 3 Ships (3 mics).
“The costume looks exactly like the ship from The Goonies.”
This viewer had a completely different theory: “Thinking it’s either Cher or Annie Lennox. Their voices have a similar range, they’re both consummate professionals and wonderful show women.
“As for ships, Cher was on a navy ship for her video for If I Could Turn Back Time.”
