This time Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, has found himself in a soup after allegations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend during a 2012 incident in France. Three friends of the alleged victim recounted the incident.
To compound the agony, Kamala Harris’ past statements on domestic abuse resurfaced after the latest revelations about her husband.

Her past condemnation of domestic abuse and sexual assault perpetrators now seems to ring hollow after the latest allegations against her husband, Doug Emhoff. However, there is no evidence that her now-husband forcefully slapped an ex-girlfriend more than ten years ago. It does not mean that questions will not be asked about the supposedly strong views of Kamala Harris against domestic violence.
Doug Emhoff Slapped So Hard Left Victim Sobbing
The incident happened at an event at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2012. Doug Emhoff, a 59-year-old Hollywood lawyer, struck his girlfriend, a prosperous New York attorney, so hard on her face that she spun around. This was revealed by three unnamed friends of the woman and was quoted in a report by the New York Post.
The latest scandal erupted after former State Secretary Hillary Clinton warned about the October surprise. The incident was also reported by Daily Mail, which has not revealed the victim’s name except that she is a successful New York attorney, and named her under the alias “Jane.”
The woman’s friend also claimed she had called him immediately after the incident and was crying in the cab.
He said,
“It was hard to hear her because she was sobbing. She told me she was with a guy and he hit her. It was very clear what she was telling me. She said she was with a guy, her date, she was at the Cannes Film Festival, and he hit her. She was in the car with the guy at the time,”
The latest scandal gave fresh fodder for Kamala Harris’ opponents who labelled Doug Emhoff’s misguided jealousy, thinking his girlfriend was flirting with another man, which led him to physically abuse the woman.
Critics of Harris also raked up past assertions by the Vice President stating that she believes women who have experienced sexual assault and questioned the genuineness of her statements.
