According to new data from retail company RetailMeNot, shoppers can get up to 20% cashback at major retailers by taking advantage of cash back deals.

RetailMeNot shopping expert Stephanie Carls said consumers can view offers by signing up to an account, activating the offer, then shop the retailer as they normally would.

The consumer will be able to earn cash back automatically, with the cash in their account within 45 days.

According to research by RetailMeNot, rising prices and cost of living issues remain a major concern for shoppers.

Despite inflationary pressures in the economy, consumers said they plan to shop the holiday sales and spend an average of $1,069 this year.

This is an increase of 14% on last year’s figures.

According to the survey undertaken by RetailMeNot, 76% of holiday shoppers plan to get started on shopping before Thanksgiving this year.

Respondents said the top five reasons for early spending included to ensure they stuck to their budget, to take advantage of early bird sales and promotions, to avoid items being sold out, and to reduce stress during the holiday period.

About 45% of consumers said they were planning to adjust their holiday budget to due to the November election.

RetailMeNot shopping expert Stephanie Carls said National Cashback Day was designed to kick off the holiday season with significant savings.

PLAN AHEAD

Carls said shoppers would have access to over 3,800 retailers making it easier for consumers to make the most of holiday budgets.

“This will help shoppers be savvy and strategic with their spending,” Carls told The U.S. Sun.

She said the shopping season was often a “tempting time” to overspend but advised consumers to follow a few basic tips to stay on track.

She said folks should plan ahead before they start shopping in order to avoid overspending.

“Plan ahead and set a realistic budget so that before you start shopping you figure out how much you can spend and stick to that budget,” she said.

“Allocate a specific amount for each person and also prioritize experience gifts rather than material items such as concert tickets, weekend getaways or cooking classes.

“Also set spending limits if you get caught on sales.”

INFLATION WOES

Carls said the biggest challenge consumers were facing was high inflation and that most shoppers were worried about high prices.

“The most prevalent concern is the rising cost of goods, so budgeting and fitting the holiday spending into already stretched budgets is important.

“Utilizing these offers and coupons goes a long way to help this.”
