Kelce is coming off his best performance of the year as he recorded seven receptions for 89 yards in the Chiefs’ Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

However, he had just eight catches for 69 yards for head coach Andy Reid‘s team in the first three games.

Kelce opened up on his play leading up to last weekend’s NFL game, saying only his stats weren’t up to his standards.

“Struggling in terms of stats,” Travis said to his brother Jason on the latest edition of their New Heights podcast.

“I was still playing winning football.

“That’s all that f***ing matters.”

The nine-time Pro Bowler also addressed complimentary opinions about his latest game being “big”.

He begs to differ.

“Big game?” he said.

“Since when is 89 yards a big game?

“It was a solid game.

“A big game is like I score a touchdown, or something.”

Jason shared the belief that a “big game” for a pass catcher can only be the case if the playres accumulates over 100 receiving yards.

Travis said he only focuses on the job at hand, which is helping the team win – no matter what happens.

“I was accountable this game,” he said.

“I didn’t have any drops, which was what happened in Atlanta to make me feel like I had a bad game. I still didn’t have an outstanding game, there’s a lot that goes into having a great game.”

“I helped my team find a way to win, and that is all that will ever matter.”

Kelce is expected to have a larger role moving forward due to Rashee Rice’s potentially serious knee injury he suffered in Week 4.

The three-time Super Bowl champion will look to score his first touchdown of the season when Kansas City takes on the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 5.
