Seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady joined the show remotely from the scene of his next call.

He returned to his former team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to commentate on their clash with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Brady was asked about his return to Tampa by his former teammate down there Rob Gronkowski.

He also previewed the Eagles-Bucs game along with Michael Strahan, Howie Long, Curt Menefee and Bradshaw.

But before his Fox NFL Sunday cameo ended – Menefee had a surprise for Brady.

The host drew Brady’s attention to a 1983 newspaper report that a man called Thomas Brady underwent surgery.

That was actually Bradshaw while he was still in his playing days with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bradshaw won four Super Bowls in his 13-year career under center in Pittsburgh.

Brady would’ve only been five years old back then, Menefee added before asking Bradshaw to explain himself.

The former Steelers quarterback explained, “When I checked in they said ‘you’re not going to get checked in under your name because you’ll get hassled, what do you want to go under?’

“I said ‘put me under Thomas Brady.”

“That’s how it happened.”

Brady watched on and couldn’t contain his laughter as Bradshaw explained the identity theft.

“The original TB is still that way, I love that,” Brady laughed.

Bradshaw had an eventful show Sunday, leaving co-star Howie Long with his head in his hands.

The Tom Brady domino effect

Tom Brady will take his seat in Fox’s top NFL announce team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

And his arrival at the network has set off a domino effect with every other announcer moving down one spot.

That means Fox’s NFL coverage in 2024 will feature entirely new broadcast pairings.

Greg Olsen, who previously worked alongside Burkhardt, will now be part of the No. 2 announce team with Joe Davis.

The other Fox pairings for 2024 are:

  • Adam Amin-Mark Sanchez
  • Kenny Albert-Jon Vilma
  • Kevin Kugler-Daryl Johnston
  • Chris Myers-Mark Schlereth

The show’s intro ahead of Week 4 was performed by award-winning DJ and producer Diplo.

Long turned to Bradshaw and asked if he could pick Diplo out of a lineup.

And Bradshaw admitted, “I have no idea who that is.”

Host Menefee told Bradshaw, “He was just on the air 30 seconds ago.”

Strahan then promised to bring Bradshaw up to date on Diplo during a commercial break.
