Mega Millions warning as $4m prize remains unclaimed – and ticket was bought at supermarket

Mega Millions warns customers to check their numbers as soon as possible as a supermarket-bought ticket worth millions is yet to be claimed.

Lottery prizes in Delaware state yet to be claimed include a ticket with a staggering $4 million sum.

The ticket was bought at Redner’s Market in Camden and its drawing date was August 30, 2024.

Another Mega Millions ticket – with a prize of $10,000 – was bought at Buyrite Liquors in New Castle.

Its drawing date was January 19, 2024, reports Delaware Online.

The lucky few with the correct tickets are told not to panic as they have ample time after purchasing the ticket to scoop their win.

Tickers are valid for up to a year after the drawing date for drawing game prizes or within a year of the announced end of sales, according to delottery.com.

However, Mega Millions has urged customers who have cut it too fine to check their numbers as soon as possible.

A $10,000-winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Buyrite Liquors in New Castle – its drawing date was January 19, 2024.

It’s not just Mega Millions customers that could be in luck – Powerball also has some unclaimed tickets worth astonishing sums.

A $150,000-winning Powerball ticket was bought at Shore Stop 263 – and its drawing date was April 20, 2024.

A $100,000 winning ticket sold at Fenwick Island Goose Creek in Selbyville, drawn on August 19, 2024.

A $50,000-winning ticket purchased at Wawa No. 834 in Lewes is also yet to be claimed.

The drawing date of this ticket was September 30, 2023, meaning the winner does not have much time left to claim the prize.

To identify yourself as a winner, you must sign the back of the ticket with an ink pen.

But be careful – this cannot be reversed and once it’s signed, you can’t change or transfer the ownership of the ticket.

For cash prizes below $599, tickets can be claimed at Delaware lottery retailers or at the Delaware Lottery Office.

And if you don’t have time to do this in person, you can post your tickets to the Delaware Lottery Office.

If you’re lucky enough to have won a slightly heftier sum – worth $2,500 or less – head to a retailer claim center across the state.

For prizes worth $600 and $5,000, you can head to a select few redemption centers between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

If you’ve been even luckier and managed to bag a prize exceeding $5,001, you can redeem this at the Delaware Lottery Office between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Winners must be ready to present photo ID with their name and address clear, as well as their social security card when claiming.

Players have been warned that all winning Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto America tickets have to be redeemed in the state they were sold.
