Georgia superstar faces calls to ‘be benched’ after ‘crazy’ performance as fans say ‘his NFL stock just took a hit’

CARSON Beck put in a performance of two halves during Georgia Bulldog’s shock 41-34 loss to Alabama.

The Georgia quarterback, 22, put up career numbers in a crazy second half as the Bulldogs looked to stage an improbable comeback.

But it came after the NFL hopeful had thrown two interceptions during a calamitous start in Tuscaloosa.

Beck was 8 of 17 passing for 100 yards, zero touchdowns, and two INTs over the first two quarters on Saturday night.

Prior to the game, the 22-year-old had not thrown an interception all season.

And he had only recorded 8 INTs over his entire college career.

The Bulldogs went in at the half trailing 30-7, mainly due to Beck’s wayward decision-making and failure to look after the football.

He has been ranked as a consensus top quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, most notably No. 1 by ESPN‘s Field Yates.

But fans were furious as the errors mounted up, with some even calling for him to be “benched” after he added a fumble to the interceptions.

“Carson Beck might get benched. This pressure is intense but he clearly can’t handle it,” wrote one on X.

“Carson Beck gotta get benched lmao,” said another.

“Carson Beck’s brutal first half. 4 turnovers, a safety, and fans calling for him to be benched. His NFL stock just took a hit,” added a third.

“Arch Manning more NFL ready than Carson Beck,” laughed a fourth.

Despite a horror show in the first half, Beck came out after the break and almost inspired a miracle comeback.

He ended the game with 439 yards, three interceptions and three touchdowns, as UGA got to within one possession.

His yardage totals were career highs, as were his 50 pass attempts on the night.

“I’m really proud of the way [Beck] played,” Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart said after the loss.

“One of the interceptions was not his fault. He did what he had to do.

“But the fumble was probably what he’s going to look back on and say, ‘Man, it’s 1st and 10, just throw it away, we don’t have to make a play there.’”

“Can’t sit there and hang our head,” Beck added.

“When that does happen, we’ve got to learn how to respond and execute. It is what it is.

“I think momentum was a huge factor, especially in college football.

“We’re on the road, they’re home, they get going, and their fans were riled up, and that’s not easy.

“It’s not easy to try and continuously go and dig yourself out of that hole, but we were able to, and I’m proud of us.

“There were just too many mistakes.”
