Logan posted an old pic on her Instagram story of Harris and herself both wearing black sparkling suits at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

She wrote: “Lloyd Harris is leaving BBC Sport which means I won’t be clashing at this year’s Sports Personality of the Year but it does mean we have lost a ray of Welsh sunshine.”

The pair seemed to have enjoyed themselves immensely, which likely inspired Logan to use this moment for her heartfelt tribute.

Harris is not the only colleague Logan has said goodbye to in recent weeks after she paid tribute to presenter Denise Lewis who announced she was stepping down from BBC Sport punditry.

Logan announced the news live on air during the Paris Olympics as she signed off one of their broadcasts.

She said: “We end our programme tonight on a bit of sad news because this is Dame Denise Lewis’ final programme with us here on BBC Sport.

“I can’t believe I’m even saying those words. After 15 years of working with the BBC and the athletics team, you are taking up a new role as president of UK Athletics.”

The former heptathlete had been on screens since 2009 as a regular athletics pundit.

Logan added: “I’m a superfan and I got to call her a colleague.

“Denise, you’re generous, kind, fun and brilliant to work with. We are going to miss you so much – not just you’re athletics expertise but as a person.

“We wish you all the very best. They have chosen the right person for the job.”
