Inside Toyah Willcox’s stunning London pad as she swaps country mansion with famous husband for Strictly’s city life

TOYAH Willcox has given fans a glimpse inside her city pad after heading to London for Strictly Come Dancing.

The 80s icon, 66, has temporarily moved out of the country mansion she shares with her musician husband Robert Fripp while she is on the BBC show.

Staying in London means Toyah is able to commit fully to her busy rehearsal schedule with her professional dance partner Neil Jones.

Toyah has now opened her door to her home in the capital before heading to the studio to practice.

In a short video, the singer can be seen standing in the hallway while practicing her moves in a floor to ceiling mirror.

Four shelves can be seen on the wall, each brimming with books, CDs and DVDs, while a second decorative mirror is propped up opposite.

The camera then pans up to a striking canvas featuring Toyah herself.

The painting is red, black and gold and sees the star in her iconic 80s clothing and hair accessories.

Toyah’s clip then moves to one of her and Neil in the dance studio, before it then returns back to her apartment.

As quick as a flash, she gives fans a look at her dining area.

An antique green and white vase stands pride of place in the centre of an eight-seater wooden table, while other interesting ornaments can be spotted on a sideboard behind it.

Finally, Toyah heads onto her private balcony and films the beautiful garden area outside.

The garden is laid mostly to lawn but has large trees surrounding its border.

Toyah shared the video on Instagram and fans were quick to congratulate her on her first performance last weekend.

She and Neil made their debut by dancing a Tango and, although they only scored a total of 12 by the judges, her followers loved it.

One told Toyah: “Doing it for the older pocket rockets!”

Another added: “You look amazing Toyah! I’ve always loved you but now I adore you! I want to be you!”

And a third gushed: “You did brilliantly on Saturday night! Good luck for this week!”

Strictly 2024 pairings

Here’s who is matched with who this series…

Toyah main home is beautiful country townhouse built in the 1500s in Pershore, Worcestershire. She lives there with her husband Robert.

Robert is founder and guitarist of the progressive rock group King Crimson and the couple have been married since 1986.

However, she is believed to have been staying in their London apartment since the new series of Strictly Come Dancing got underway.

At the beginning of the year, Toyah also gave fans a peek at their main residence after her sprawling back garden was flooded following a spell of heavy rain.

The punk star climbed into a canoe before recording a video for her fans on YouTube.

Robert could even be seen standing on dry land as she explained they were temporarily marooned.

Meanwhile, before signing up to Strictly, Toyah did find herself discussing the show in an interview.

She was asked in the months prior to agreeing to take part about the show and told The Mirror about her concerns.

Toyah said: “Well, I’d have to do it sooner rather than later, because I’m not going to be able to move like that in two years’ time.

“I do understand how hard they work. I’m friends with Angela Rippon and she was extraordinary.”

She added: “But they’re rehearsing 10 hours a day every day. And then on Saturday, they do two shows. As I went there, they invited me to watch them do the live show. Then at nine o’clock, they film the Sunday show, and I’m thinking, ‘Could I do this?’”
