VICKSBURG, MS – The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) are partnering with the City of Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Center to host a Halloween themed pickleball fundraiser on October 26. Costumes are encouraged, and a prize will be given for best costume.
The fundraiser will begin at 8 a.m. at the City of Vicksburg Pickleball Courts at Halls Ferry Park.
An early bird special of $35 per person is available for those who register by September 30. Beginning on October 1, registration will be $40 per person, and $50 per person for day-of registration. They will award medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place pairs in each bracket (i.e. beginner, intermediate, and advanced). You can register here.
All profits will go to the Mississippi River Section of SWE, which will support outreach events in the Vicksburg community. These outreach events include STEM demonstrations at the local elementary schools, high school panels, hands on demonstrations for girl scouts, as well as other events.
The Society of Women Engineers is a non-profit educational and service organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging women to enter and succeed in engineering, science, and technology. The Mississippi River City Section is the only professional section in the area, and has participated in many outreach events in Vicksburg and nearby areas. SWE’s mission is to empower women to achieve their full potential as engineers and leaders. The group also aims to expand the image of engineering and technology as a positive force in improving quality of life.
