Chasta Buff of Vale won a $200,000 top prize in the North Carolina Education Lottery’s Mega Bucks game Saturday (September 21). She bought the winning $5 scratch off ticket at the Vale Mart & Hardware store on N.C. Highway 18 North in Vale.
Ms. Buff said she hopes to use her winnings to buy a house. She collected her prize at lottery headquarters Tuesday (September 24) and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $143,001.
