BILL BELICHICK has been linked with a shock NFL head coach job to replace an under-pressure boss.
The New England Patriots legend failed to land another coaching role during the offseason.

He was interviewed by the Atlanta Falcons, but was rejected for Raheem Morris instead.
Instead, he has taken up broadcasting roles, appearing on the Pat McAfee Show and other ESPN programs.
The 72-year-old has now been tipped to replace one NFL head coach who is facing the sack.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-3 after a shocking start to the 2024-25 campaign.
Trevor Lawrence is having an awful time at quarterback, and fans have even called for him to be benched.
Head coach Doug Pederson could be axed at at moment, and Belichick has been tipped to replace him.
Albert Breer of ‘The Monday Morning Quarterback’ thinks the NFL icon is the man to replace the Jags HC.
“They’re just a sneaky one with Belichick for me,” Breer said on The Dan Patrick Show.
He believes the relationship with Jags chiefs Shad and Tony Khan could have a huge influence on the decision.
“Tony Khan has a strong relationship with Bill Belichick, to the point where, so when they hired Doug Marrone full-time, they removed the interim tag (in 2017),” he added.
“That was largely on the advice of Bill Belichick to do it. So,
“Bill has had the ear of ownership in that place for a while now.
“And I just wonder if that’s not rattling around in the heads of ownership up there now.
“He does have a place, I think, right down the street.
‘Don’t do your job’
Bill Belichick is known for telling his former New England Patriots players to ‘do your job.’
But he took aim at Rob Gronkowski during the Tom Brady roast.
“You know, a lot of people connect me with a saying called, ‘Do your job.’ And telling people to do their jobs,” Belichick said.
“Gronk, I’ve been watching on Fox NFL Sunday and I’m begging you – stop doing your job.
“Do another job. Do somebody else’s job!”
“I guess down I-95 there in South Florida too, so that wouldn’t hurt either.”
There is understood to be a secret clause in his ESPN contract that allows Belichick to take a head coaching job at any time.
The Jaguars were hammered 47-10 at the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, in one of the blowouts of the season.
This is Pederson’s third year in the job, and there is huge pressure on him to finally deliver.
The Khan’s also handed Lawrence a monster $55m a season, five year contract.
But he is 0-8 in his previous eight starts dating back to last year, and struggling to find any form.
However, Belichick could be the man to turn his fortunes around.
He had six Super Bowl wins during his 24 seasons with the Patriots, alongside Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.
The NFL icon was fired by them at the end of last year, and replaced by Jerod Mayo.
